I reviewed the blog about the guy who gets an email from a supposed lady on the Ivory Coast in West Africa who has run into a large sum of money following the death of her mother and she needs the help of somebody overseas to deposit the money into their account so she can move over to the country and invest it. The tone that the writer has used is a humorous one as he makes fun of the scammer throughout the blog. He used quite a lot of simile in his writing especially when he is replying to the email, ‘Sali, your name sounds like an ocean wave crashing in to the front of a building during a bad storm and there are dead fish everywhere.’
He mainly focuses on the reaction that he is getting out of the scammer and the poor grammar of the scammer he also focuses on the sarcasm throughout the whole piece.
What I like in particular about the blog is that it is something I can relate to as I to have received those emails from people in Africa trying to leech you of your money.
I like the way it is written because he is not complaining about the annoying emails he is receiving but he is making them humorous. I like the way he describes her when he reply’s to the email. I especially like the fact that he is scamming a scammer.
